Situated in a prime position in Braemar, Juniper House is close to all local amenities. Braemar has several licensed hotels as well as restaurants and coffee shops. There is a small supermarket, award winning butcher, pharmacy, bank and a range of other shops and facilities including a tourist information centre. There is an 18-hole golf-course, which is said to be the highest in Scotland.

Braemar itself is in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park and is situated in one of the best areas in Scotland for walking, climbing and cycling. Several fabulous walking and cycling routes are only minutes from the door and the scenery is simply stunning. In addition, the Glenshee ski area is approx. 10 miles south of the village. Fishing is available locally on both the Dee River and the Clunie Water, subject to obtaining the necessary permits.

Events in Braemar include the world-famous Braemar Gathering in September.
